We are expecting a GORGEOUS DAY this week, just in time for market (and a happy dance)
Apples and microgreens are back in this week, after a long dry spell of going without them for weeeeeks on end, even monthssss.

It’s a great week to gather up any dulling knives and drop them off with Aaron while you shop around at the market and our neighboring downtown merchants. He’ll make sure you’re impressed with the slicing and dicing your knives will once again be capable of.
Keep him busy so he’d not sleeping on the job! Didja know he’ll be happy to sign you up for Tuesday text reminders so you don’t see him and once again say “Darn – I FORGOT”!! If he had a nickel for everytime he’s heard that…. On the DL, this man knows some of the best nut butters you can buy – not from him, but he’ll steer you in the right direction. Stop by and chat him up 😉

Since it’s been a FEW weeks in a row (Gah!) of miserable weather, you’re probably out of stock on most everything so come stock up and get your dinner rolls, jams, chickens and greens, glorious greens. It’s still cold enough at the moment for all our vendors greens to be impressively, well, EXUBERANT ! There’s just no other word for them!!

Plus … do we dare mention EGGS? We are a great source of FRESH, local, safe and clean eggs. From backyard chickens, with shells in regular, brown, some in bluish tones and others in olive green , plus duck eggs, and speckled quail eggs- all ready for their gorgeous Instagram-worthy close up. In fact, you can pick up eggs this week from any of the following vendors: and they’d all love to see you 🙂
Twista J Farms LLC
Hearthstone Farm
Mountaineer Munchkins Homestead
Paradox Farm
Singing Earth Produce
(Plus, sometimes, Whistle Creek Pet Nutrition will have her gorgeous “easter-eggers”, those multi colored dozens, so its always a good idea to check in with Carol. At least say “Hi” and if you have a pup on a leash, they’ll surely drag you over to see her anyway… IYKYK…

Chef Brian’s booth is always good for sampling and picking up soup and food to eat at home – his quiches are a “don’t miss” and if you’ve got a sweet tooth, in addition to fudge and all the homestyle desserts at Trecia’s booth (Eat my Treats) is the selection of almost -too-pretty-to-eat GORGEOUSNESS by Baker Lulu of 6Bittersweets. PS, in case you didn’t know, Lulu has a sweet deal going on with our neighbor Lauren, Chef/Owner of GloBowl and the new, upcoming Woods Creek Windup and will have her exquisite cupcakes (works of edible art every one!) featured at both outlets. If you miss Kate’s raw/vegan treats from Abundant Life Kitchen, they’re there too!
More “in the know” latest news is that Trecia and Chef Brian are now both bringing their booths out to nearby Buena Vista on Thursday mornings, setting up at our LFM friend Asunder Coffee Bar, Cafe & Roastery so you can get caffeinated and all set for the weekend.
It’s SO gratifying to see our vendors doing well, and spreading their wings, sharing their labors of love with growing audiences and expanding to Brick & Mortar locations. This market is a great business incubator for the Rockbridge County area. Did you know that Cheese to you on Main street started there, and that Chef Troy was a market staple for a while, as well as Thistleberry (soon to become a Tearoom on Nelson street – Oooo!!) and Asunder and while I can’t yet talk about them, there are more brick & mortar locations coming from among the LFM ranks. I’m telling ya, our vendors are up and comers and worth keeping an eye on! It’s why i’m always bragging that we have the “Best of Blue Ridges, VA Edition” (#BOBRVA) and that refers to our awesome vendors, as well as YOU – our cherished customers.
Thanks for all your TLC and missing us the weeks we had to close! Fair warning, our dear mascot, Elmer is still in Snowed-in JAIL but we can’t wait to roll him back out curbside in better weather in April when we resume High Season hours and vendors. Winter has felt like forever, but also whizzed by, ya know?!?!
See you soon!!

A written work of art!!
