Vendor Spotlight Feature: Ferncliff Farms
After relocating from Richmond to Natural Bridge, where they could enjoy overlooking the wide open landscape with sunsets that would take their, your and our breath away, dreams of having more space to grow (in every sense of the word) started to grow – yes, pun intended!

Ferncliff partners Elaine & Marshall joined us at our annual LFM market meeting at the Horse Center 2 years ago.  They attended our market fairly consistently for much of 2024 high season, and this year took the leap of faith joining us as full-time vendors. Watching them grow and become a meaningful part of the LFM Community has been a joy and clearly, from your support at their booth, you couldn’t be happier to adopt them as well!Marshall brews up the array of ferments (vegan kimchi for the time being), and helps Elaine setup the booth every morning. So, we see him, but you might not. Elaine is the “face” of the booth and if you don’t know her vintage style, prepare to swoon over the aesthetic she brings to everything she creates….
Even her space is appealingly set up and her vases, bouquets and blooms are have that distinctive Ferncliff touch! While her booth has been floating about, come see her in person over in the top of Row 4 where she likes the angle of the sun best, protecting her delicate blooms from the sunshine .  Should you have any spare glass jars to upcycle, bring her them to be re-purposed into bouquet holders, and don’t worry if you don’t have the matching lids, either.

And now, let’s hear about her business directly from Elaine:
“Why buy from us?

We grow and divide every tuber out on our farm in the Virginia Mountains. We are a no-spray, regenerative farm focused on soil health and biodiversity. These varieties have proven to do well in our east-coast climate, putting up with the heat and humidity. We have strict sanitation practices and use crop rotation to avoid disease. I personally handle and inspect every single tuber. Most importantly you are supporting a small local business and we could not do this without you ”

Ferncliff Farms is one of of our main 2 floral vendors along with Pam of West Farms as the anchor to our first row,  curbside. Both vendors offer freshly cut BEAUTIFUL blooms, bouquets and seasonal wreaths, whereas centerpieces are also occasionally available from Angelika of Blumengartern Designs (master gardener, with emphasis on native varietals) located in the middle of our 3rd row.  Hanging and stationary planters are also always available from Singing Earth Produce at the foot of the 2nd row.
Tall, cut gladiola’s can be found seasonally available from Michelle, at Hearthstone Farm booth, farther up in the first row. There’s simply NO good reason you can’t treat yourself to a burst of cheerful loveliness and find a gorgeous handmade pottery vase from our friends at the neighboring art gallery, Earth Fire & Spirit Pottery, https://www.facebook.com/earthfireandspiritpottery,  or take a different approach, and learn to make your own hand-thrown vase at a workshop by our new friends over at  https://www.facebook.com/theworkshopattimberridge

We can’t wait to see you tomorrow, and “Shop o’Clock” is now from 8am – 12:30 every weekly Wednesday throughout the rest of 2025.
