I’ve been getting a lot of questions about who redeems coupon purchases at the Lexington Farmer’s market, so if you have this card, this top section applies to you.  If you’re wondering what on earth i’m talking about, then you’ll want to jump ahead to the next section immediately.

So, if you’ve been given one of these:

then look for this sign, displayed prominently by 3 of our produce farmers:

The farmers who currently are set up for accepting “qualifying”* produce purchases, in both digital and card format are Little Hat Creek in the middle of the 1st row – see Tony, or at the foot of the 2nd row, Adolfo who grows for Singing Earth Produce,  Ulmer Mountain View Farms towards the top of the 3rd row, see Robin.  Of course, qualifying purchases are something of a tricky dance, limited to cut herbs, not potted, fresh, farmer-grown produce only, and really, while a bit of an oversimplification, practically nothing else.   There is so much that goes into “Qualifying”, from the customer’s age and their income, and the myriad restrictions on the farmer’s end which in many cases is made easier at our market simply because we are a growers-only market. Nobody sells any produce they, or their direct family member didn’t grow themselves, personally.

And now, without further ado…
Our vendor spotlight, and our Market ForkCast for the 7/30/25 market.
We’ve taken a few weeks off of our Vendor Spotlight!  This week, lets see what Bigfoot & Sons, LLC has to offer. Here’s a reel to get you in the mood:https://www.facebook.com/reel/1726490778232952

I’m highlighting  an innovative idea they have had, to offer bulk assorted microgreens – Farmer’s choice, but it’s been a great mix of this ‘n that, fun to discover and a treat to eat.
Pre-orders Required as this is not a standard retail item (yet). He will sell them in a bag, and i’ve found they can have extraordinary keeping qualities if you transfer them immediately into a mason-style jar and keep them refrigerated. To give you an idea, the 8 ounce bag for $30 filled TWO quart jars and i’m coming up on a week of them staying vibrant, and juicy/ crunchy.

Pro tip: best to use a wide-mouth jar so you can ever-so-gently “pack” them in.

Perfect for busy lifestyles, picky eaters, and anyone who wants to boost their nutrition. While their nutrient contents vary slightly, most varieties tend to be rich in protein, potassium, iron, zinc, magnesium and copper, lysine, thiamine, niacin, calcium, iron, manganese, and in case THAT’s not enough, are a good source of vitamins A & C, too!

If you’re interested in pre-ordering, comment below and i’ll message you his infos. Or, come talk to him at market any Wednesday, in the heart of our historic, walkable downtown, between 8am – 12:30pm. And hey, since you’re already headed over, stop in to see you favorite nearby merchant, or gallery too.
